Alva RogersA REQUIEM FOR ASTOUNDING by Alva Rogers

Advent: Publishers, Chicago, 1973 printing

Condition: Very Good+ to Near Fine

This is perhaps still the definitive history of Astounding, covering 30 years, from the first issue in 1930 to the change to Analog in 1960.  It is packed with reproductions of cover and interior illustrations, especially from the first 20 years.  There is an index of authors, illustrators and others, and editorial comments by Harry Bates, F. Orlin Tremaine and John W. Campbell.  It's a shouldn't-miss reading experience for fans of vintage science fiction.  This is a later trade-size paperbound printing.  Yellowing on and next to spine, modest spine end wear and slight spine wrinkling ; the book has barely any other flaws (publisher's price sticker on top right of front cover).
