From my personal collection, an amazing original painting by punk rock legend, David Corboy, founding and still active member of the punk band Sado-Nation. This is a 5" by 5" acrylic painting of an atomic bomb blast on cradled artist panel. What makes this painting extra special is it glows in the dark and boy does it glow!!! The bomb blast is layers of lightly textured phosohrescent paint outlined in shiny silver and bright red paint. The background is a battleship gray. In the dark, the bomb blast glow so strongly that it gives off it's own light. It was quite hard to photograph, but I promise you will not be disappointed! I tried to give a representation of the painting's daylight and night time views. A must for any true Sado-Nation fan and a fine addition to your art collection. It's signed by Corboy on the back. Guaranteed authentic! BONUS:I will throw in an autographed copy of the latest release from Sado-Nation  "Future Past Present Tense" Anthology! 25 years of Sado-Nation's best including many never before released tracks!

Glow Bomb Paintings-artist's statement by David Corboy

"The glow Bomb paintings are about contridictions of horror, beauty and light and dark.
To simplify and abstract the bomb image changes it's character from terror and distruction,
to one of decoration. To emphasize  decorative elements the bomb blast image has been flattened.
Using silver or gold to outline the blast image adds to the decorative look of the pictures.
Phosphorescent paint is used to make the bomb blast image glow in the dark, this glowing effect is
symbolic of  radiation and the threat of nuclear destruction. The glow effect is visible only in darkness.
When viewed in the dark all decorative elements of the painting disappear. This is when the duplicity of
the painting is in full effect.
The Glow Bomb paintings are executed with phosphorescent acrylic and normal acrylic paint.
They are composed with the idea that they may be viewed in normal light situations
as well as in darkness. These pictures were inspired by the painting style, "Super Flat",
which is based on the Japanese comic book art called, Otaku. I use a decorative
element of gold or silver paint to reinforce the positive or, "plesentness" of
the so-called negative bomb images. The application of flat color and gold or silver
line
also relates to art that was created as icons for religious purposes during
the Byzantine period of Art History. The Glow Bomb paintings contain all the elements
of Iconic picture making and addresses the contempory style of flat painting."

David Corboy attended Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland Oregon from 1973 through
1977, earning a BFA in painting. His paintings are in many collections and his work has
been included in many shows.
In 1978 he formed the Northwest punk band Sado-Nation.
He continues to paint and sing and play guitar for Sado-Nation.
