ColdZyme® is unique in that it works against the cause of the cold - the cold virus itself. ColdZyme® is easy to use and works by forming a protective barrier on the mucous membrane of the pharynx that makes it difficult for the cold virus to cause disease. With ColdZyme® you reduce the risk of colds and can shorten the course of the disease if you start dosing at an early stage of the infection.
ColdZyme® is a CE-labeled medical technology product.
ColdZyme® has a local, temporary effect on the surface of the mucosa and can be used by adults and children over 4 years. The product has been used in nearly 50 million doses since 2013, sold in over 11 countries. Function and safety are supported by clinical studies and customer surveys.

About the company: In the 1970s, the Icelandic researcher Professor Jon Bragi Bjarnason noted that fish cleaning staff had unusually whole and soft hands. Given that the cleaned fish, the hands should rather have been cracked and wounded. Was there anything in the fish that seemed protective? The answer was yes. The research group was able to show that in some cold adapted marine organisms there is an enzyme with good protective properties. The development work eventually led to a world patent on the marine enzyme cold adapted trypsin. The enzyme is extracted as a by-product in the preparation of cod and therefore does not strain the marine ecosystem. In 2007, the Swedish biotechnology company Enzymatica is founded, which acquires global rights to develop and sell products containing the marine enzyme- ColdZyme® reduces the amount of virus and halves the cold days¹ COLDPREV is a double-blind, placebo-controlled study in which 46 healthy volunteers were infected with a cold virus (rhinovirus 16). Half of the participants were treated with ColdZyme® and half with placebo. The analysis and graph are based on the number of people where we were able to confirm that they were infected by the virus or those who showed symptoms. The study saw a statistically significant effect for ColdZyme®, ie a difference between ColdZyme® and placebo in reducing the amount of cold virus in the throat (-99%) and reduction in the number of cold days (-54%), corresponding to -3.5 days.
