This white Tuareg Boubou (kaftan, Gandoura and Dara'a) are the traditional clothing of the nomadic Tuareg of the Sahara Desert in Niger, Mali, Algeria, Morocco and beyond. Typically worn by men, it is suitable for man or woman. Lightweight and made to repel sand, this makes for a great beach cover-up, for relaxing in the hot summer, or for anytime!
This 100% cotton garment, it is handmade. It is not like many of the other "imitations" that come out of Morocco that are made of inferior fabric and poor-quality embroidery. This is true Saharan desert garb.

The garments is known by various names in different ethnic groups and languages that adopted it from the original babban riga of the Hausa People, called agbada in Yoruba, boubou from Wolof mbubb, mbubb in Wolof, k'sa or gandora in Tuareg, darra'a in Maghrebi Arabic, grand boubou in various French-speaking West African countries and the English term gown.
