Typically constructed from plywood, this shallow-draft, barge-like boat could ferry a roughly platoon-sized complement of 36 men to shore at 9 knots (17 km/h). Men generally entered the boat by climbing down a cargo net hung from the side of their troop transport; they exited by charging down the boat's lowered bow ramp.

Hongkong Post today (January 11) announced that air service to the United Kingdom (UK) is resuming to a limited extent, but as the air traffic capacity provided by airlines is still unable to cope with the posting volume of all airmail services, priority is given to the resumption of e-Express service to the UK from tomorrow (January 12), while other airmail services will continue to be suspended. The weight limit for e-Express service is two kilograms with basic mail tracking data provided. As local postal operations in the UK are still under the influence of the pandemic, delays in mail delivery are expected.
