• This is the Jewish National Defence organization enamel ribbon.
• The ribbon was awarded to members of the HAGANA underground pre-Israel period for 6 months of service between year 1920-1948.
• The Hagana (The Hebrew word for “Defense”) was established in June 1920 in order to realize the necessity of the Jews to defend themselves and protect their lives and property.
• Throughout its entire history, the Hagana was an underground resistance movement not officially recognized by the British Mandate.
