The Chinese Panda coin has been struck annually since 1987, and is issued by the government of the Peoples Republic of China. The front side of the coin features the Temple of Heaven from central Beijing as the heart of the design. The reverse face of the coin displays a panda bear grasping the trunk of a fallen tree, with a wall of bamboo in the background.
