Obsidian is a natural black crystal stone, and snowflake obsidian has natural white "polka dots" that look like small snowflakes. 

Obsidian is formed when hot lava inside volcanoes cools rapidly to form a black volcanic glass. The white flakes in Snowflake Obsidian are formed by the mineral cristobalite which happens when parts of the glass crystalize before cooling.

Some people believe that Snowflake Obsidian keeps one grounded and balanced during chaotic times, encouraging the wearer to be present and in the moment.
