The Tone City Model B is one of many amazing amp-like distortion pedals in their range. However, the Model B is arguably the hottest of the bunch, delivering an incredibly powerful US-style distortion that is heavily inspired by a particular treadplate-covered amplifier.

Vintage or Modern?

Most of Tone City's double pedals are dual-mode, allowing you to easily switch between two different voicings for ultimate versatility. With vintage and modern modes, the Tone City Model B can take you from a tasteful crunch to that unmistakable saturated high-gain sound heard on countless 90s and 00s metal albums.

Modern mode has a scooped mid-range, but pumps out plenty of low-end thump and searing presence in the higher register. This mode therefore allows you to recreate some of the most desirable metal tones you can think of, making heavy single-note riffs and power chords sound absolutely monstrous. And when you're ready for your solo, chuck on the boost switch for a searing lead tone.

3-Band EQ

While some pedals in this range rely on just a single tone knob, the Model B instead uses a powerful 3-band EQ that can let you really take control of your tone. This is very important if you want to switch between the vintage and modern modes frequently, as the EQ curves are quite different for each.
