SUMMARY: This Elegant piece is after the above Listed Classic Work of Art, and it is signed by Matisse 'in the plate' (just visible lower r/h/s of centre). Title and year of the original work are catalogued beneath the plate (only seen if the plate is lifted), plus there are other corroborative details catalogued in lead verso the passepartout support. It is immediately ready for mounting and framing, and will of course be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity which details the origins of the work.

 

The colours in the plate remain bold and defined, and the overall condition is excellent for its era. Although there are minuscule signs of w&t at the extreme edges of the support, these will not be evident when properly mounted & displayed. It is unquestionably a superb example of the genre.
