Vintage original 11 x 14 in. US double-weight matte photograph from the 1970s sexual awakening-themed drama/romance, SUMMER OF '42, released in 1971 by Warner Bros. and directed by Robert Mulligan, in which during his summer vacation on Nantucket Island in 1942, a youth (Gary Grimes) eagerly awaiting his first sexual encounter finds himself developing an innocent love for a young woman (Jennifer Jones) awaiting news on her soldier husband's fate in WWII.
The image depicts young Benjie (Oliver Conant, left), Oscy (Jerry Houser, center) and Hermie (Gary Grimes) on the sand dunes by a beach. This photograph comes from a newspaper archive and features writing on the verso. It is in fine- condition as shown with light waviness along the top and bottom borders and a small tear with a 2 in. crease next to it on the bottom border.
