SUMMARY: This hard-to-find Warhol lithograph is after his groundbreaking portrait of 'The King of Rock & Roll', and great icon of the 20th century, Elvis Presley. "Triple Elvis marked the beginning of a long series of Hollywood portraits by the artist. The monochrome palette of black, grey and white, along with the repetition of the image (a Warhol trademark) resulted in this movie-reel effect. Here Warhol portrays Elvis the actor, in cowboy costume from his role in the film ‘Flaming Star’. An item of fine quality, it was commissioned by El Mundo of Spain in 2007. It bears the title and artist with year below the plate, and verso the support are corroborative details in Spanish, with reference catalogued in lead. Immediately 'ready for framing, the lithograph will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity detailing the origins of the item.
