Chinese Interior-Painted Large Snuff Bottle (#2)

My first husband was an economics consultant to the government of China and traveled to remote areas of China in the 1980s. He often commented that his hosts would take him places where no other foreigners went.  On those trips he brought back a treasure trove of jewelry, antique crystal and glass objects, and antique pottery.  This Interior-Painted Large Snuff Bottle came from one of those trips. 

This heavy glass bottle is 6 inches tall by 3 inches wide by about 1 1/2 inches thick.   Incredible artistic talent was used to make this piece of art.   Using the tiniest of brushes, an artist reaches through the small opening on the top of the bottle and paints these intricately detailed Chinese figures on the inside of the bottle.  This is the tallest bottle of my collection.  The figures depicted look like male children.  The lid appears to be light green jade has a cork stopper with the snuff spoon still attached.  The bottom of the bottle is not perfectly flat, so the bottle wobbles a little bit when you first set it down, but it stands perfectly fine.   I am calling this Bottle #2 from my collection to distinguish it. 

I recently retrieved from my mover's warehouse all the furniture, pottery, art, dishes, and personal items I had had stored with them for many years.  This snuff bottle was among them. It was displayed in my china cabinet before it was put into storage.  It is time for it to go to a new home to be enjoyed.   It comes to you from a smoke-free and pet-free home.  I am also listing other snuff bottles from my collection.
