I made grocery shopper bags to use left over materials from Table Socks. I made a pattern from the reusable bags sold in my local grocery store. This is an excellent utility bag suitable to use for items typically purchased in a grocery store, but it could be used for any product imaginable! Use it for groceries, use it for clothing, use it to pack your picnic, use it to store winter gloves and hats, use it to carry a dish to your favorite pot-luck event, and the list could go on and on. These bags are made from 100% polyester, so they are washable and durable. Just wash on gentle cycle and then air dry. This is handy when leakage happens getting groceries home from the store. The plastic insert is 2-3 times thicker than the bottom inserts of the typical reusable bag sold. The insert comes out independently, so it can be wiped off or even disinfected. The insert is flexible, yet it is sturdy. As long as it is not left in extreme cold or extreme heat, the insert should last for a very long time. I made some of these for my use, and they can be packed heavy with any kind of jug that fits, or lots of produce, or meat. It is very easy to transport them from the store to the car and then from the car to the store. I personally find it satisfying to line them up in my vehicle. They are attractive and functional to be lined up next to each other with every bag the same.
