12 color plates with captions as well as numerous black and white integral drawings by John Neill. The first edition book was printed in 1916.

Here we have a fine crisp copy as shown. The Ownership page with name in pencil from 1922. Interior pages very nice with some offset from color plates to pages as shown, common in the 1920 printing. The binding is quite wonderful.

The dust jacket has chipping to the spine ends as shown with a few tape repairs on the verso.

One can find a copy in a dust jacket easily enough for some inflated price. However, finding a 1920 copy as nice as this one is with its original dust jacket, which is different than those that followed is not common.
