Description
For your consideration, a vintage Fleming Sterling Silver overlay on Stainless Steel cutting or grazing bit. The bit is in well maintained condition, but a 1/2 inch long section of the silver is missing where the mouthpiece attaches on the right cheek. Please see the close up photo provided. The close up photos show the marking "FLEMING" below the mouthpiece on the inside of the right cheek. The mouthpiece is a 4.75 inch wide by 7/16 inch diameter sweetwater mullen port. The low and wide port on this bit offers a lot of tongue relief and works more on the bars of the horse. Suitable for horses ready for a solid mouthpiece all the way to the older finished horse that may need a bit that has a different feel. The shanks measure 5-1/2 inches long with a 2 inch purchase for a mild 2.71 to 1 leverage ratio. The bit weighs a super lightweight 8 ounces.
