  • EDITION : 1947. PLATE ENGRAVED AND PRINTED BY THE ETABLISSEMENTS BRAUN & CIE, AT MULHOUSE-DORNACH, HAUT-RHIN, FRANCE. This is plate number 1 of 24.

 

SUMMARY : This is an Impressive Lithograph after the above Listed classic period Matisse Artwork. The piece is signed by Matisse 'in the plate' (just visible lower r/h/s - see pictures 2+3), and has original title and year of the work catalogued verso the support in lead. The piece will of course be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity detailing the origins of the work.

The article is in excellent condition for its years, and the robust colours in the plate are as deep and powerful as the day it was created! It is most definitely a superb example of the medium, and will make a wonderful acquisition or gift to any fan of the legendary Henri-Matisse.
