This is a vintage, 1924 Columbia Records recording of Dolly Kay performing Hard-Hearted Hannah on Side A and I Can't Get the One I Want on side B,  Record # 151-D. The record is described on the  label as comedienne with Orchestra accompaniment however Kay was apparently known for this song and for performing early blues and jazz. She was a Vaudeville performer and later went by her married name Dolly Ricco. This is an original shellac 78 RPM record in a period Victor sleeve. (The antique record is part of a collection that was randomly placed in sleeves.  Obviously, the Victor sleeve did not belong with the Columbia Record but it is from the same time frame.) The record was released by the Columbia Phonograph Company in 1924 according to the reference cited below. I inherited this record more than 35 years ago from the original owner's family. It appears to be in good condition although there are scratches and it needs to be cleaned. (See photos) I have no way of playing the record to confirm whether or not it still plays. The paper sleeve is in nice shape for a 100 year old sleeve but there are penciled notations and bends. That it still exists, is rare. The antique Victrola record is sold as is. This would make a great gift idea framed for a Hannah or for anyone who loves early Jazz or Blues.
