Vintage Wind Up Music Box "FARMER IN THE DELL" Livery Stable Barn Animated Doors.

This is a very cute music box, and more detailed than most you’ll find. Various animals adorn the side of the barn with a hint of Christmas via snowman and snow capped roof.

Wind the key in back to play “Farmer In The Dell” and watch as the barn doors slowly open and a black horse emerges. So much to see inside - the farmer’s wife, pigs, a cow, sheep, plush chickens in the hayloft and more! (So much detail!) - but be quick as the doors start to close and the process completes.

Note: I picked this up at an estate sale, in severe disrepair. The platform that the horse stands on was missing and all the animals were just jumbled inside the stuck doors.

I just didn’t want to see it go to the trash. So I spent waayyyyy too much time reconstructing this, fixing the music box, gluing all the animals down inside and out, some painting, and creating a new platform for the horse…. I’m not sure how it originally looked, as I can’t find another like it, but did my best.

The doors and horse are a bit fragile. You may need to re-hook the doors to the platform if they slip during shipping. Small fingers or a tweezers will do the job.
