Thomas (Jackie Chan) and David (Yuen Biao) run a successful lunch wagon business in the beautifully scenic Barcelona, Spain. One day, David's wandering eye settles on the pretty Sylvia (Lola Forner, 'Armour of God') and it's love at first sight, despite the fact that she's a notorious pickpocket.
Meanwhile, bumbling private eye Moby (Sammo Hung, who also directed) has been hired to find a long lost girl who, naturally, turns out to be Sylvia. The illegitimate child of a deceased Count, Sylvia stands to inherit his fortune, if she turns up within two weeks of his death; otherwise the money will go to the count's evil brother.
Naturally, the latter hires a number of goons to try and dispose of the girl, so it is up to Thomas, David, and Moby to protect her. During the big finale, Chan and Yuen take on American martial artists Benny "The Jet" Urquidez and Keith Vitali ('Revenge of the Ninja'); the Chan/Urquidez match-up is considered to be among the best around, giving Chan an opponet who is arguably his equal.
As mentioned earlier, the back alleys and grand, Olde World buildings and squares of Barcelona provide a lovely backdrop for the martial arts and car stunts, and some of the numerous pratfalls generate legitimate laughs.
