The Canary Island date palm (Phoenix canariensis) is a beautiful tree, native to the warm Canary Islands. You can consider planting a Canary Island date palm outdoors in zones 9-11. However, planting a Canary Island date palm is not entirely out of the question indoors, or if you have a small backyard.
