The Crucifixion – 8.5x11" Art Print

Anonymous German Artist – c. 1035 A.D.This charming print is definitely in the style of German Art around the time of Hildegard of Bingen. It was painted one thousand years ago but could have been painted in the last hundred years, since the break from strict realism. The figures are stylized and geometrically arranged; the composition is balanced. Notice the background is abstract: bands of green grass, brown woods, blue sky. This keeps the focus on Christ and the redemption he has just purchased for us. There is a pallor to his flesh. The wood of the cross is gold, indicating its holiness. Tempera on parchment, presumably by a German monk.(source: getty.edu)We print it on special art paper with archival quality pigments, rated to last for many generations without fading when kept out of the direct sun. – 8.5 x 11" acid-free paper– Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.– Cardboard backer– Above story of the art– Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.** IMPORTANT ** There is about an inch-and-a-third of white space around the picture, so the image is smaller than the paper.
