Space Shuttle Program Spacehab Flight Artifact from STS SHUTTLE NASA. RARE: FEW EXIST One Spacehab corner post support. Included with the object is a material acceptance tag. This was purchased at an sale of Spacehab equipment from the Cape Canaveral Florida facility location in the 1990's. Spacehab was the NASA contractor who custom made the Modules to hold the research projects and supplies transported by the SHUTTLE on missions and also to the ISS. The modules had to be designed to protect the cargo during launch and flight, and permit access to the products or projects they carried. Truly an ever-changing and demanding task for engineers in the SPACEHAB TEAM. This silver color threaded post support is possibly made from titanium and stainless steel. It has 4 holes that are threaded. It is otherworldly smooth!!!! The area around the 2 larger holes appears to have a gold color. The Rivets are super. It is a superb piece of machined hardware. The size is 3 inches x 1 1/2 but irregular in shape. It's a miniature piece of industrial space program art...It should be mounted in a display case. The material acceptance tag was dated 12-22-99. The Scrap Matrix Sheet', Highlighted in yellow, states that it was released by NASA because it was OBSOLETE- THEIR LOSS IS YOUR GAIN. THE MATERIAL ACCEPTANCE TAG SAYS IT "WAS A FLIGHT ITEM"..Whether that means was flown or could be used in flight is your guess. Great for space buff, engineer, spacehab employee, shuttle collector, etc. PRICED TO SELL. INCLUDES ALL ORIGINAL PAPERWORK. Please examine photos fully for additional condition information.
