Michael Grant's Cookbook Hearty Fare From a Country Kitchen Paperback Book 1987
(possibly signed by the author, I am not a signature expert).
If the recipes in this collection have a drift, it is to the down-home side.
There will be some exceptions to that, but I have a big appetite for what I generally call 'post- Depression' cooking.
It traces mainly to the influence of one person, my grandmother, Susie Foote Grant.
Susie's skills with staples were keen, and every time I sit down to Smothered Hamburgers, Pinto Beans, Corn Bread Thangs and sliced tomatoes, I consider myself a beneficiary of those skills.
They were not my starting point in the kitchen, but it was Susie's style that I finally came home to.
Re-experience this rich and satisfying American food-a cuisine that respects your budget as well as your palate.
Book is in good condition. General shelf and corner wear. Some white marks on the front and back cover. Some fraying along the cover edges. A solid reading copy. Please see photos for details, and let me know if you have any questions.
