The Taft-Hartley Law by Irving G. McCann Paperback Book First Printing1950
The Labor Management Relations Act of 1947, better known as the Taft–Hartley Act, is a United States federal law that restricts the activities and power of labor unions.
Few if any acts of an American Congress have been as systematically attacked and as grossly misrepresented as the Taft-Hartley Act. Seldom, if ever, have the sponsors of eminently useful and helpful legislation been made to bear the brunt of such an onslaught of unfair and vicious criticism as have Sen. Robert A. Taft and former Rep Fred. A. Harley Jr. and other supports of the act.
The public, by and large, appreciate the fact that this measure was an act of real labor statesmanship. Otherwise the administration and various self-seeking labor union officeholders long since would have gotten rid of the act and its restraints of the abuse of union power. Heaven only knows they've tried hard enough!
