Piper Aircraft 51944-006 Rod Assembly

This item was purchased from an aviation surplus sale. I do not know the history of it. It is in good cosmetic condition. It is tagged, "AR, PA-31T-131, C-GNWD". It is about 16 3/8" long x 3/8" diameter. The threads are 1/4"-28. I am not able to test it. It only comes with what is shown in the pictures.
