I tried this out with quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies and every time it counted correctly.  This is as far as I have been able to test it.  It is missing 3 screws that help to secure the top half to the bottom.  There is some type of connector on the back that is missing a couple of screws as well.  I removed the top section and the last picture shows the connector.  I don't know what the connector is for though.  Everything that is included is shown in the pictures.
