Welcome to my shop: winebeerglasses—the same name as my former Etsy store (see review screenshots in the images below). I maintained a perfect 5-star rating for five years on Etsy before leaving due to poor customer support. I’ve since moved to Bonanza, where most of my listings can now be found. Just visit Bonanza.com and search for shop: winebeerglasses for more selections.
All my watches are:
Fully serviced
De-magnetized
Regulated using a timegrapher
Backed by a 3-month warranty
Unlike many watches sold by casual resellers or “flippers” in unknown condition, my timepieces are properly restored for daily wear. Cheap vintage watches often require costly service—expect to pay $$$ if they're not already maintained.
This Mido Commander is essentially New Old Stock (NOS):
Dial, case, hands, and bracelet are all genuine vintage Mido NOS parts—never worn.
The case and bracelet may show surface marks, but these are protective coating residues, not scratches.
Fitted with a high-grade ETA 2879 automatic movement in excellent condition. This is the correct era and caliber Mido would have used for this model—the only difference is an unsigned rotor.
Case size: 36mm across
Lug-to-lug: 40mm
Movement: ETA 2879, automatic
Bracelet: Original Mido NOS stainless steel
Condition: Like new, never worn
This is a mid-sized vintage watch—a classic look that avoids the oversized trend of modern, cheaply made watches.
Keeps excellent time (within a few seconds a day) —far better than the typical ±4 minutes/day tolerance expected from vintage watches.
As with all vintage pieces, keep away from water. I do not test water resistance.
I build and restore vintage automatic watches as a passion project, combining my background in precision engineering and design aesthetics. Each watch is freshly cleaned, lubricated, regulated, and restored for accuracy and functionality.
No Chinese parts are used—even the spring bars are Swiss made.
Free U.S. shipping with added insurance
Final sale, but includes a 3-month free maintenance warranty:
If service is needed, the buyer pays one-way shipping to me, and I’ll repair it and return it at no cost.
This is your chance to wear something unique and mechanical in an age dominated by electronics. The 1960s and 70s marked the peak of mechanical watchmaking—what came after is mostly hybrid or electronic.
