SVANE PORCELAIN Plate featuring the winner of the 1984 Swedish Trotting Derby “BIG STAR” and driver Stig H. Johansson. The Swedish Trotting Derby (Swedish: Svenskt Travderby) is a prestigious annual national Group One harness event for trotters that is held in Malmo, Sweden. Until 1982, the distance of the Derby varied from 3,000-3,200 meters (just under 2 miles). In 1983, the distance was shortened to 2,640 meters (1.64 miles).

Pierced foot for hanging wire; fully marked on the back including the Svane Porcelain trademark (Svane = Swan in Swedish). Diameter approximately 7 oe inches (19 cm). Based on a photograph of the winners taken by Einar Anderssons Pressbild AB. Issued in a numbered Limited Edition of just 1,000 plates.
