What a great image! Mr. Jameson has a unique ability to use his likeness in others, this picture being an excellent example.
Who is this unusual Surreal Artist, William D. Jameson, or Bill, the name he preferred?
Well, to uncover the answer first we had to discover his famous Brother, Singer, Songwriter and
performer from the 1960's, Bobby Jameson. Interested persons can type this YouTube Link
( https://youtu.be/5zy3-cxFwfE?si=DpldzNc7xS3LIS47 ) Into their Browser for an intro to Bobby
singing a song while his beloved Brother Bill's Artwork rolls by in the background.
In that video Williams's artwork Is set to the music of "Too Many Mornings which Bobby wrote for the
Chris Lucey album "Songs Of Protest" in 1965. The song is titled "That's The Way The World
Has Got To Be" on the album. We invite anyone interested in Bobby's music to visit his
YouTube page ( https://youtube.com/@jamesonbobby4 ) which features many of his original
songs sung by him.
As for our esteemed artist Bill Jameson's brother Bobby, during the 2010's he created a detailed Blogspot
that gives a good amount of data on BIll and shows many of hi art works too. That link is here:
https://williamjamesonart.blogspot.com/ when reading the information there It becomes obvious that Bill loved his brother deeply as he took care of him till his death in 2014 and then Bob passed away a year later.
R.I.P. Jameson Brothers. Your lovely contributions to our world will always be remembered.
As for the Bill Jameson art we acquired some years ago from his Grandmother's estate, all are original
and all are smaller pieces being roughly 11 to 12 inches high and 7 to 8 inches wide. With each set of
images one picture will have a ruler reference.
The style of art Bill Jameson drew in is known as Surrealism, think Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso etc.
although there are also a few landscapes and nudes in this collection as well. We think Mr. Jameson's
work is thought provoking, accomplished and well worthy of owning.
Condition - A good amount of these works are self titled having their title's written on the front by the artist, however some do not. All works are on paper that's between 57 to 60 years old. Some of these works have some minor staining. Some of these works have some slight fraying on an edge. All of them have been kept, by the estate, in plastic sleeves. They are, for the most part, in remarkable condition. Please carefully examine whichever picture your interested in prior to purchasing and feel free to ask questions.
Titles - Most of the titles of these works were titled by me with the major exception being that many have the exact title of the piece hand written on the piece by Mr. Jameson.
