The Frame is an engraved gold tone brass metal in a beautiful Art Deco pattern. The purse has a diamond design pattern of silver and gold steel cut colored beads that are fantastically detailed, and surprisingly heavy. It is a beautiful bag, and these are difficult to find now a days. It was made sometime between 1900s to 1920s era. The strap is made of metal chain.
This purse comes from an estate of Atlantic city Steel and McGurk families. Steel family was the founder of salt water Taffy and steel pier. McGurk family owned hotels in Atlantic city NJ in early 1900s. They collected and traveled all over the world and also splurged on many beautiful objects.
