Vintage New Zealand Line Travel Poster

This vintage travel poster shows the ocean passenger liner, RMS Rangitata, sailing through the Gaillard Cut (renamed the Culebra Cut in 2000) which is part of the Panama Canal.

The RMS Rangitata was built in the John Brown shipbuilding yard in Scotland and was operated by the New Zealand Shipping Company.  She regularly sailed between New Zealand and London, via the Panama Canal and a scale model of the liner is in the New Zealand Maritime Museum in Auckland.
