Mistaken identities and sexualities spin a tangled web in this romantic comedy directed by Lee Friedlander. To avoid introducing her black boyfriend Dana (Mystro Clark) to her narrow-minded Southern family, Manhattanite Alex Houston (Andrea Marcellus) has told him that her entire family is dead. But when Dana unexpectedly proposes to her the day she is due to leave town for her sister Jeannie (Desi Lydic)'s wedding, Alex's 'little white lie' snowballs to avalanche proportions. When her gay best friend Fred (Charlie Schlatter) inadvertently leads her old friends to believe that Alex is in a relationship with a woman, she decides to let the story run, asking the gorgeous Risa (Cathy DeBuono) to play the role of her lesbian lover. But things go from complicated to crazy when Alex's newly-wedded sister falls head-over-heels in love with Risa...
