Triple bill of comedies starring Jim Carrey. In 'I Love You Phillip Morris' (2009) Steven Russell (Carrey) is a married police officer, churchgoer and upstanding citizen of his local community. That is, until a car accident dramatically alters his perspective on life. Accepting that he is gay, Steven embarks on a flamboyant and extravagant new lifestyle which, due to its costs, finally leads him to the wrong side of the law and a spell in prison. There he falls in love with the sweet-natured and sensitive Phillip Morris (Ewan McGregor), and channels his powers of ingenuity into a plan to escape jail and build the perfect life with Phillip. In 'Liar Liar' (1997) Carrey plays fast-talking lawyer and habitual liar Fletcher Reede, who is constantly coming up with excuses for not visiting his four-year-old son, Max (Justin Cooper), who lives with Fletcher's estranged-wife, Audrey (Maura Tierney). When Fletcher misses Max's fifth birthday party, Max makes a wish that his dad will stop lying for a whole day. The wish is immediately put into practice and Fletcher finds himself thrown into turmoil as his reliance on fibbing as a way of life becomes painfully apparent. In 'The Cable Guy' (1996) Steven Kovacks (Matthew Broderick) is undergoing a trial separation from his girlfriend and has just moved into a new apartment. He is so lonely he bribes the cable TV guy, Chip (Carrey), to give him all the movie channels for a cut price. Chip takes this as a sign that he has made a friend for life, but when Steven attempts to distance himself from Chip's manic overtures, the relationship takes a sour turn.
