Stockbroker Jon Aldrich (Tom Selleck) has all his assets frozen when the FBI starts investigating his company. On top of this, he discovers that his mother is in hospital and that his father is suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. Jon decides to bring his parents home to live with him, but they soon manage to turn his household upside down. Depressed, broke and at his wits end, Aldrich begins to listen to his parents weird idea about killing them and claiming the life insurance money so that he can start again.
