Milwaukee Road 950 EMD GP20 Diesel Locomotive Bensenville 1 Color Negative 1970s

Type: 35mm Film Negative, One of A Kind Original with no known copy.

Size (when applicable) : 35mm

Known Source Information: Chicago Area Estate Sale

Special Note: The slide was photographed by hand and certainly doesn't fully display the great detail and depth of color this slide can produce when properly displayed.

Over the past decade we have been purchasing and accumulating 1000's of photographs, negatives, color slides and transparencies. Most were purchased from estates in the Chicago area. In age the range from the late 1800's all through the 1900's up until 1975 or so. Anything newer then that we tended to shy away from. None of the images that we are selling are modern day reproductions, printed by an inkjet or laser printer. All are in the format in which we purchased them. That said, the negatives and slide we sell are the only known to exist. The same can't be said for photographs, although it is highly unlikely that another exist in most cases. Perhaps tucked away in another family members photo book or shoe box, there may be another, but that is beyond our scope. There may also be instance where both a negative and developed photograph exist in our collection, due to the large quantity we are dealing with joining the two may be difficult and they can be sold separately.

Whenever possible we will share any source information or identifiers about the subject matter.

No strings attached, what you purchase, you own. Free to do with what you please. Also, our return policy applies for items received other then as described, NOT for you to receive the item and make copies, an honest transaction will be expected.

URGENT SHIPPING NOTICE: May 2024

As explained below in order to keep shipping of slides affordable we've depended on USPS First Class Mail and largely this service has been dependable. However since the end of 2023, the consolidation of hubs has caused delays in some areas of the country that simply aren't acceptable. In particular, mail delays to Texas (Houston hub), Georgia (Atlanta hub) and Virginia have been covered widely by local and national news. Until we're able to sort out another low cost shipping option we ask the following:

  • Understand that we ship you order the next day.
  • Should you live in areas affected by mail slow downs/delays we ask you to dismiss normal delivery times and accept that your item may be delayed within the USPS system.
  • Should you find the above unacceptable we ask that you consider the Ground option at checkout, which offers tracking and insurance.
  • Significant dollar orders are always upgraded with tracking, you need to do nothing.

Shipping Domestic- When selecting "STANDARD SHIPPING" at checkout your item is shipped at a reduced cost and without the benefit of tracking. If you would prefer not to take this risk you can upgrade to "USPS Ground Advantage" and tracking will be provided. We have added the "STANDARD SHIPPING" option in order to address high shipping cost for lower valued items.

specifics that you may need addressed so please do not hesitate to contact us before you make your purchase, we'll be pleased to assist you.

Image Date- We are often asked how we were able to determine the date of a slide, photograph or negative, to which there is more then one answer. When using a specific year that evidence comes from one or more of several sources. In the case of slides those after 1959 are usually date stamped when processed, we also use slide tray liner notes, memos written on the slide, evidence presented by other slides/photos/negatives within the same grouping, logs or journals kept by the original owner and visual evidence presented in the image itself. When the precise year is unknown but the period is clear will use general terms such as 1940s, 1950s, 1960s...etc.
