Antique Victorian Boots Ladies Button-Up Heeled Shoes Grover Soft Shoes Mismatch

Antique, Victorian era women's shoes.  Circa 1890.

This pair of boots is a bit mismatched, though possibly belonged to the same person based on the markings on the soles.

Each is marked on the bottom soles: GROVER HAND-SEWED and BEATTY EAST ST. LOUIS, ILL."

Each is button-up.  One is solid black and the other has a black toe cap but more of an olive-black body.

The solid black boot is for the left foot.  It is marked on the inside, "GROVER SOFT SHOES FOR TENDER FEET LYNN MASS."  Stamped on the inside are the numbers 36-1 34902.  It measures approximately 10" long and 2.75" at the widest.  Scratched into the brown portion of the leather sole is, "C = B."

The olive-black boot is for the right foot.  It is a little taller than the other boot.  It is stamped on the inside 36-2 74864.  It measures approximately 9.75" long and 3" at the widest.  Scratched into the brown portion of the leather sole is, "C = B."

Pre-owned, antique.  Both boots have some scratches and scuffs.  No missing buttons.

I acquired these from a museum of Victorian fashion in Tombstone, Arizona when the owner closed the museum for his retirement.
