The Water Fan by Winslow Homer - Art Poster Print 13 x 10 in
A wonderful seascape by American artist Winslow Homer. Titled The Water Fan, it shows a young boy leaning over the edge of his boat, searching for coral by using a glass-bottomed bucket.
Homer was an American artist, born February 1836 in Boston, U.S.A. and was known for his fabulous marine sketches and paintings.
This painting was done around 1898, and the bucket was also known as a "water glass" or "sponge glass" and used to see clearly under the water, just like a diver's mask.
Homer died September 1910 in Maine, U.S.A.
