This interesting wood engraving of a group of art students studying in one of the Louvre galleries in Paris, was done by American artist Winslow Homer, for the publication, "Harper's Weekly" in 1868.
Its full title was, Art-Students and Copyists in the Louvre Gallery, Paris
Homer was born February 1836 in Boston, U.S.A. and was known for his fabulous marine sketches and paintings. But he also worked as a freelance illustrator for mass-circulation printed publications.
Homer died September 1910 in Maine, U.S.A.
