Heavy Aluminum Metal Striped Bed Post Finial or Table Leg Paperweight 5.25" READ

Used condition with wear, scuffing, scratches and dents. I have no idea what this is or what it's used for. My best guess is some sort of bed post finial or table/chair leg. It appears to be made of aluminum, but might be some other metal. It is heavy. Measures approximately 5.25" and 3 5/8" in diameter across the base. The opening in the base measures approximately 1.5" in diameter. See photos for more detail.
