Black and White (1942) Casablanca is a movie catering to an audience spanning at least two generations. It's the story of the struggle between diverse individuals who have sought refuge in Casablanca after fleeing Nazi-occupied Europe during World War II. Ilsa Lazlo (Ingrid Bergman) and her fugitive husband, a leader of Europe's underground, must obtain visas to guarantee their transit to America. Richard Blaine (Humphrey Bogart), Ilsa's former lover, becomes an accomplice in the endeavor to assure their safe departure. Intrigue, romance and drama combined to win this film the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1943, and established Humphrey Bogart as a great romantic star.
