Klamath County High School (Oregon) "El Rodeo" Yearbooks, 1926 & 1928 Debb Potts

Here are two classic "El Rodeo" yearbooks from the very last years of Klamath County High School in Klamath Falls, Oregon: 1926 and 1928: In 1929 a new high school opened as Klamath Union High School. These yearbooks are filled with fascinating photos and factoids; most amazing is how much the hairstyles of 100 years ago are being brought back to life today! Anyone for a bob? Secret societies, odd athletic team attire, bizarre classes, bad jokes, and typical racism, misogyny, and tunnel vision are all in full display. And, if you are of a certain age and remember Oregon politics in the 60's and 70's you will be happy to find Eugene "Debbs" Potts as a graduating senior here, but you will still not find out why he called himself "Debbs!" There are probably not too many of the matriculated still with us, but surely some heirs and other relatives would be interested in these little time capsules? Both are in excellent condition and have held their age well. The '26 is a hardcover and the '28 a softcover. Both have many signatures and notes from classmates.

PS: Back it the day when I used to travel the Northwest on business I would frequently visit "K-Falls" and got to know it a bit. For a time it was known as one of the murder capitals of the US (per capita). Don't know if that still holds, but I do know that some of the home-grown restaurants I used to frequent in the 70's are still going strong today (here's looking at you Wongs!)

PPS: Well I just ran a quick google search on K-Falls and find it is disturbing how many of the top hits focus on how much of an armpit K-Falls is! And I find it is still one of the most violent cities in the US (top 25%!). And, apparently the water is poison and the air stinks. Great place to visit? Yeah but I'm just passin' through....
