Circa 1895 Sugar Bowl and Creamer set from KT&K Co. Features blue crown mark on both.

Valenciennes pattern (also called Fishnet by some) and a Japanese bamboo motif, knotted handle. The filigree netting is in gilt, mint green background and interspersed with hand painted Violets and foliage. Highlighted gilt rims, in addition to handles and lid lift.


Condition on both is near excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs. Only note is some minor gold loss on lid lift tip. A rare find for the astute collector! KT&K Pottery from East Liverpool, Ohio (1854-1931). In the late 19th century was the largest pottery in the US with 29 active kilns. The company's production of fine or bone porcelain began in 1888. the finest porcelain, Lotus Ware line, was introduced in 1892 and produced until 1896. It was shown at the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago sweeping every award in fine porcelain categories. Produced only a short time due to high production costs. 


Lotus Ware decoration was prepared by a former Meissen factory decorator, Heinrich Schmidt.
