This is the memoir of Gordon Baxter, an award-winning newspaper columnist, successful (though frequently fired and rehired) radio star and daredevil pilot, who in midlife remarried and give up his "good ole boys" days and grew into a new self-made mold. And through it all there was beautiful Village Creek, along which he built his cabin. This copy is signed and inscribed to a friend by the author. Just modest exterior wear (chiefly a couple of bumped corners); the interior has gutter tears in two places, but the binding remains basically secure; otherwise, just minor interior flaws. The jacket has a creased front flap and some spine end and corner wear.
