The brass body for this lamp came to us in pretty bad condition. The oxidation had severely pitted the oil reservoir. This lamp was beyond restoration but too nice to not revive.

One of the things we do here at Gargoylery Studio is gilding, which is what we did with this lamp. Every square inch of it has been gilded by hand.

The amber glass shade is a beautiful pairing against the glow of gold. The shade has foliage and roses in it and by itself is worth around $50 .

The marble base is clean and white and is probably from Italian mines.

The only issue is that the knob is in contact with the glass chimney cup. It turns but it would be better if longer than the knob that came with the lamp.
