Early c.1920 Ferdinand Strauss of New York "Tip Top" Walking Mechanical Porter. Wind up tin toy is in fine bright condition. Nice Strauss logo on the front of the cart. No rust and nice original gloss. Like many of the early Strauss toys it has the appeal of the German made tin toys and possiblied copied from Lehmann and Bing. From the early Jim Crow days of African American train porters it is a toy that reflects the time it was made.
