This Icemaker is an OEM part compatible with Whirlpool refrigerators. Typically located inside the freezer, it fills the ice tray with water from the refrigerator's water line. Once the tray is full, it will freeze the water into cubes that are then ejected into a storage bin.
A failing or bad icemaker can cause a variety of issues. These include not producing enough ice, producing too much ice, overfilling, or not ejecting cubes properly. Other symptoms may include leaking water around the icemaker, loud noises coming from the icemaker, and/or ice cubes being stuck in the tray. This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.
