Beautiful Antique black Art Deco China silk satin example of "getting rarer all the time" 1920s dress in wearable condition! Downton Abbey era, Gatsby, Miss Fishers Mysteries.
This 1920s dress is legance itself, with amazing symmetrical diagonal lines, sleeveless, no openings so keep that in mind when thinking about fit. It has gorgeous silver and white beading at the neckline, in an Art Deco diamond pattern.The part on front is actually not attached, sort of like built-in necklace. China silk is unique and heavier than regular silk. Unlined.
The little bolero jacket has fluttery short sleeves with bows. The lining peeks thru so you get that great Art Deco black and white feel.
Though it IS in EXCELLENT, strong wearable condition. Caveat- I cannot guarantee any length of wear with vintage.
1920s party dress in Incredible condition, no flaws; The bolero is perfect on the outside, but the lining is frayed at the top edge as shown. Nothing is dry rotted- that said, there is no guarantee vintage clothing will have any sort of sell-by date.
Recently unearthed straight from a cedar chest where it has been residing since the last time it was worn in the 1920s. It's clean, smells fine. No holes, stains on the dress. As found!
