UP FOR SALE:  Vintage 1950s Dolly Seamstress Sewing Dressmaker Battery Operated Tin Toy Japan

This listing is for a vintage BATTERY OPERATED DOLLY DRESSMAKER a.k.a. DOLLY SEAMSTRESS w/box as shown made by Rosko Tested #02400 Japan. This is not a reproduction toy. 

It is in excellent Visual Condition however when I put batteries in her she does not turn on. The Battery compartment is very clean, no rust, corrosion anything--she actually looks like she never had batteries in her.  Her head, Not completely sure what is going on here, she had some form of clay that held her head on and it disintegrated from age so she will need to have that fixed as well. I did fashion an eraser that fits inside her head to hold her head on--I will include that.

If She was in working order, this is a list of the things that she should do:  
Light in table comes on, the 3 templates revolve, ( red flower, white dog and blue flower ). Dolly realistically moves her head from side to side following the movement of her hands holding the cloth. The red wheel on the sewing machine revolves and the needle moves up & down continuously while on. Dolly also moves her feet up and down on the pedal. Condition is excellent - near mint. Battery compartment is pristine with no rust or corrosion. Fantastic piece to display.

This is a "MADE IN JAPAN" toy listed in Don Hultzman's book, COLLECTOR'S GUIDE TO BATTERY TOYS, copyright 2002, second edition. It is listed on page 62. It is a 1950's era toy made by the T-N Nomura Co. It has a rarity of 4 on a scale to 10 being the rarest, and a value of $350.00 in C-10 condition. without the box. The original box is included. It is in very good condition, but does have a number of clear tape repairs. Displays well.
