CIVIL WAR, CONFEDERATE, CS-19, WESTERN THEATER, SPUR, DUG, NEAR BORDER OF KY & TN
This CS-19 features a tall and nearly right-angled neck and was probably made by Thomas Leech and Charles Rigdon. This CS spur is sometimes referred to as “Memphis Style” because of Leech & Rigdon was Memphis Novelty Works. This CS spur is the smaller version. This measures approx. 4.25 inches in length, not including the rowel, and weighs in at 2.5 ounces. This has a 14 point rowel which measures approx. ¾”. One of the strap plates is slightly bent from use. Unmarked. The 14 point rowel is rusted to include the rowel retention pin. The rowel pin is only ½ of the original length and is holding the rowel in place. Retains a good green patina. This was excavated near the eastern border of Kentucky and Tennessee.
